This clever device is the perfect (almost) invisible way to wall mount your sword or dagger. The scissor mechanism grips the blade tightly just below the cross-guard allowing the sword to hang vertically - or at an angle if you provide support at the tip of the blade (a nail or screw will usually suffice). The mounts are designed to hold the sword flat against the wall and are only suitable for medieval style swords with cross-guards.
