New from English Heritage Guidebooks
Title: Marble Hill (booklet)
Marble Hill, one of London’s finest historic houses and landscapes, was the creation of the courtier Henrietta Howard (1689–1767), later Countess of Suffolk. It is now a public park and much-loved local amenity.
Enabled by a grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and the National Lottery Community Fund, English Heritage has worked for several years on an extensive programme of conservation, restoration and improvements at Marble Hill. With the reopening of the house in May 2022, and before publication of a new English Heritage Red Guide in the autumn, this brief guide introduces some of the key features and stories of Marble Hill, and the work of the restoration programme.
