This tapestry has been woven by master tapestry weavers on a jacquard loom. A beautiful woman casually rests while observing a lovely white swan. Amazing detail is woven into the peacock pattern of the woman's dress in this stunning wall hanging. The original painting by Sir Frederic Leighton, a British painter, draughtsman and sculptor. His works depicted historical, biblical and classical subject matter in an academic style. His paintings were enormously popular, and expensive, during his lifetime, but fell out of critical favour for many decades in the early 20th century. Leighton was the bearer of the shortest-lived peerage in history; after only one day his hereditary peerage became extinct upon his death. Why not give this tapestry as a gift for a friend or loved one that is interested in the history of art?
